Great symbolism
A true paradise for our four-legged friends, the islands of Tashirojima and Aoshimalocated in northeastern Japan, were long ago renamed “Cat Island”. Here, humans pale in comparison to cats, who vastly outnumber them statistically. A total of 150 cats live on the island of Tashirojima compared to 80 residents. On the neighboring island of Aoshima, only six people live, compared to 120 cats.

But why do cats have such an important place? The Japanese go crazy for them because they are considered home guards and temples. Above all, they symbolize chance and prosperity. They are not pets, but will welcome you on your journey as if it were their home. Because it really is.
