Aragon – Discovering old instruments at school

As every year, schools are offered a different activity as part of the Quinzaine Occitane.

This year the association Fasètz la lenga en Cabardès offered musical entertainment for school children, Jean-Marc Parayre presented and played instruments from the folk traditions of the region.

Pupils of the five municipalities, kindergartens and primary schools of Aragon, Moussoulens, Pennautier, Ventenac and Villegailhenc, partners in the development of Occitan culture, benefited from a great service: the discovery of ancient instruments.

Each of them was able to discover percussion (bell, bell, tambourine, etc.), stringed instruments (violin, hurdy-gurdy) and wind instruments (flute, oboe, boudègue, diatonic harmonica). All in good spirits and education, with a few words in Occitan, of course.

A beautiful moment of sharing between the children and Jean-Marc Parayr, a musician recognized in the world of popular traditional music.

next meeting Tuesday, April 23 18:30 at the Maison du Cabardès Aragon, for Estanquet with Marc-André, who will present his work on the translation of French/Occitan texts.
