For several months,national assembly opens to the general public free of charge and by reservation at the initiative of President Yaël Braun-Pivet. For Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic GamesPalais Bourbon is participatingCultural Olympiad and greets his steps, six statues representing Olympism to celebrate sport and art. They will be visible from April 2 to September 22, 2024for the entire duration of the competition, outdoors.
He is a French visual artist Laurent Perbos who imagined this art installation where each sculpture embodies a Olympic discipline : basketball, boxing, javelin, para-archery, surfing and tennis. Inspired Venus of MiloThese female figures in acrylic resin each hold an object that represents their sport, an allegory that defies the collective imagination that associates sport with masculinity and reflects the evolution of games.
These colorful works wish to be exhibited until the European Heritage Days includingeach connected sa the color of the rainbow, symbolizing equal rights and the fight against discrimination.
