Why do we decide to tattoo our skin one day? A question asked by a group of students at Caussadais High School.
As part of the Dispo program in conjunction with Sciences-Po Toulouse, a group of five students from the Claude-Nougaro high school in Caussade-Monteils, accompanied by their teacher Bruno Bonnefoie and supervised by two Sciences-Po students, received Gabriel Frété, a tattoo artist based in Septfonds, who gave them he came to explain his practice. He first introduced some of his work tools, especially the dermograph, before discussing the relationships he maintains with his clients to make sure they really want to be tattooed and to choose designs that often match the messages in relation to real-world situations. For the convenience of the client, he specified that the tattoo did not exceed three hours. At the high school, whose theme this year was the body, the high school students chose to work on body presentation through tattoos, a practice that is becoming more widespread. They designed a tattoo questionnaire in the form of a survey to try to understand the perception of tattoos. “How do you perceive a tattoo? What does it represent for you? Is it trivialized for you? Is it a reflection of your personality? How is it perceived in a professional environment, in a family environment?”
Access to courses of excellence
Since 2010, Claude-Nougaro High School has been involved in the Dispo program, which primarily aims to promote access to excellence pathways for scholarship, high school, or likely college students; an equal opportunities program developed since 2006 by Sciences-Po Toulouse. Its mission is to reveal and support students’ ambitions for long-term higher education. A daily challenge that aims to break representations. It is aimed at students in a disadvantaged situation, whether for economic, social, family, cultural, health, gender or even territorial reasons, which contribute to the creation of conditions of inequality of opportunities that harm academic and academic success. The program, named Cordées de la voix in 2008, is part of the national democratization policy of the network of regional political science institutes under the auspices of the IEPEI (Integrated Studies Program).
