4th grade students from the private college Sainte-Foy in Decazeville went to Toulouse as part of a school trip. In the morning, in the “Halle aux grains”, a historic venue in Toulouse, they attended a dress rehearsal of the National Capitol Orchestra in preparation for the evening concert with Mozart (Symphony No. 1 and Violin Concerto). In this way, students could concretely demonstrate the knowledge learned in class, from orchestral training to vocabulary, necessary to listen well to a piece of music, and admire the conductor during his technical rehearsals with the musicians.
The day continued on the topic of cultural openness in Japan after working in several subjects. A lunch break complete with sushi allowed us to soak up the Japanese atmosphere in the Pierre-Baudis Japanese Garden before heading to the Toulouse-Japan Association grounds where Anne Kito-Vardon and her team were waiting for our youngsters. for workshops. The afternoon was full of discovery as they could try their hand at writing haikus (Japanese poems), origami, drawing manga, writing in Japanese and tasting traditional tea and cakes. A moment that will remain in the memory of high school students.
This trip was worth it for our young people who learned many things in a different way, under the Toulouse sun, with the first experience of metro travel for many. The guides have a positive rating for an original and useful educational trip.
