Guide-lecturer Amélie Dermaut worked in tourist offices, especially in Sancerre and Aubigny-sur-Nère. He had an idea in his head for several years: to offer Berry tours on board 2 CV. This blue 2CV belonged to his father. It was one of the last to be put into circulation before production ceased in July 1990. Amélie Dermaut recalls unforgettable trips aboard this 2CV with her sister and cousins.
The project was not easy to implement. In order to transport passengers, Amélie Dermaut had to pass through VTC license (tourist vehicle with driver). The 2CV was revised to get back on the road. “In 2022, I was one of the winners of the crowdfunding campaign with the agency Cher Tourism and Territory. I managed to withdraw about 3000 euros. This amount was used to replace the steering column” explains Amélie Dermaut.
Four thematic areas
After completing all the administrative formalities, he will take advantage of the beautiful period to start his business. Amélie Dermaut offers four thematic circuits: Sancerre and its most beautiful views, the Pays fortress, the link between Scotland and Berry and the vineyards of Sancerre. “I’ll be commentating in the car as we drive, but we’ll also stop, take time to explore certain places with anecdotes about local life“, explains. Privileged visits as they are limited to a maximum of three people. Depending on the theme and the number of kilometers, the ride takes from 1:30 to half a day.
These mops are currently on offer Saturday afternoon, Sunday and Monday.
