This course dedicated to acrylic painting allowed you to discover or deepen new techniques.

The members of the workshop “Espalion, the city of painters” gathered for a one-day training session dedicated to acrylic painting.

Around ten painting enthusiasts gathered in their usual premises under the old Saint-Hilarian school. Led by Charly Martinez, a painter and sculptor from Florentin-la-Capelle, the group set out to explore this versatile artistic technique. For some participants, this day meant a complete discovery of acrylic painting, for others it was a valuable opportunity to deepen their skills already acquired in other artistic fields.

A day of artistic exploration

The course began with a technical explanation given by the professor covering topics such as the selection and use of equipment, brushes and knives, paint thinning techniques, the drying process as well as creating an ‘effective background’. These valuable tips were illustrated with some quick demonstrations by Charly Martinez himself.

Each participant then had the opportunity to choose the subject of their painting, be it landscape, portrait or buildings, and then begin creating their work. Valuable advice, kind appreciation and sometimes a helping hand from the master allowed everyone to progress in their artistic approach throughout the day. Late in the afternoon, the group split up, each taking their freshly painted canvas with them and expressing their gratitude to Charla Martinez for generously sharing her expertise.

Hospitality and sharing

But this day was not only dedicated to artistic creation. The shared lunch, enriched with delicious delicacies brought by everyone, offered a moment of hospitality and rare exchanges, strengthening the bonds of friendship in the group.

The enthusiasm generated by this experience indicates a unanimous desire to repeat this experience in the future.
