This is one of the threats to biodiversity across the planet: poaching. In 2023, nearly 500 rhinos were poached in South Africa, an 11% increase, according to the country’s census. But even in France, the nets are regularly destroyed, targeting, for example, deer or even wild boar.

To talk about it on today’s show: Eugénie Pimontová, Cybercrime Campaign Manager at IFAW, International Fund for Animal Welfare. Answers questions from CM2 students at the PEF school in SAint-Ouen.

To start the show, Milo wants to know which animal is the most poached. Lehna wants to know what they are for “killed animals”. Dimitri wonders where the poaching is happening. “What are the animal welfare laws?” Suzanne questions. Then Milo is interested in the reasons that lead to poaching. “Are there any animals that are not poached?” Lou asks him to stop.
