In La Grand-Combe, the target of new complaints is university teacher Léo Larguier, who is suspected of making advances towards a student and of abusing his minority to fondle her. Two 14-year-old girls say they suffered the same acts from the 44-year-old man. They signed up after media coverage of the affair in the middle of last week. These young girls say they received words and suffered the same approach, via text or after class.
Abdelkrim Grini, prosecutor Alès. is confident that it has sufficient serious and consistent evidence to initiate a judicial investigation for sexual assault and corruption of minors. The teacher was arrested at his home on Tuesday, April 2. Investigators found a computer missing from his home, which he allegedly got rid of, but confiscated his mobile phone. The 40-year-old denies the allegations. The defendant was placed in pretrial detention this Thursday, April 11.
The Alès Research Brigade is now in charge of the investigation. The professor will be tried by the criminal court on May 3.
