Mirepoix. Discovery of professional sectors to encourage vocations

After visiting the Jacquard Vocational High School in Lavelanet, third-year SEGPA students attending the Cité scolaire continued to explore vocational courses by visiting Saint-Girons.

As part of a full immersion day, Mirapician students had the opportunity to discover the various training courses offered by the François-Camel Secondary Technical School and the Aristide-Bergès Construction Secondary School.

“We were welcomed by the directors of both sites and their specialist directors of professional and technical training,” explains Ludivine Teychenne, Professional Discovery Professor in Sales, Distribution and Logistics.

Students were able to communicate with these experts and teachers of individual sectors.

The training offer is particularly rich at both schools. François-Camel High School focuses on cooking and various services, while Aristide-Bergès High School offers construction training.

“Several of our students interested in fields such as carpentry, painting or cooking wish to come on a one-day mini placement to really make up their minds. It is important that students choose assignments with a full knowledge of the facts. The dedication and availability of the teaching teams at both facilities enabled our students to understand and plan the range of courses available at Saint-Girons.
