The Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris is preparing to invade the streets of Paris, this Sunday, April 7, 2024. Runners will cover the 42.195 kilometers of this long-awaited race for a large part of the day (about 2 hours for the best and 4 hours on average).
The journey of dreams in the heart of Paris
After a fanfare start on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées, the runners will go to the most beautiful sights of the city of lights. Place de la Concorde, Opéra Garnier, Louvre, Notre-Dame de Paris, Musée d’Orsay, Eiffel Tower, Grand Palais and Auteuil Hippodrome are included in the program. This is enough to make runners forget about the pain as much as possible. As with the half marathon, runners will pass the Place de la Bastille, the Bois de Vincennes and the Bois de Boulogne. If you live in the capital, you can go and support the participants!
Changes due to the Olympics
Starting on a fake flat, on the Champs Elysées, can also be treacherous. After kilometer 7 and Place de la Bastille, runners will arrive at a false flat climb, rue de Reuilly (kilometer 8) and the climb will last just over a kilometer. You’ll need to avoid going into the red, although the fact that it’s at the start of the race will help you get through it without too much trouble. The arrival at Bois Vincennes (10-17 km) is synonymous with false climbs and small descents. At the 15th and 16th kilometers a small climb will have to be negotiated. The atmosphere will be there until you enter the tunnels on the banks of the Seine, where the air will be heavier. All that remains is to overcome the wall after the 33rd kilometer, but the crazy atmosphere should give wings to the runners before Boulogne. Finally, head to the Trocadero and his fake apartment to rush to the finish line and the medal ceremony.
