Chiara, Laeticia and Laurane were offering homemade cakes at their stand. These moms have come a long way for a good reason. Élodie Perez, one of them, explains: “We do this every year to fund our children’s school trips”. The little ones go to the Calmette or Nicolau school, two elementary classes that will soon be combined. “The bus is especially expensive. Last year, the children visited the Canet-en-Roussillon aquarium. This year, they are to go to Limoux on May 16 for the Olympic flame.”, a historical moment. By noon everything was gone. Plus cookie crumbs, chocolate, apple or raspberry cakes. According to the mothers, the little ones were largely involved in their production. There’s no doubt: it’s love that makes the best cakes.
