Schoolchildren from Victor-Hugo, Portugal

As part of the partnership between the towns of Lavelanet and Melgaço, the Victor-Hugo college traveled to Portugal for a week. 14 third-year students, accompanied by Anabelle Couteau, secretary of the Victor-Hugo college, and two teachers, Maïa De Andrade and Sylvain Fence, completed the second stay since the creation of this partnership.

Schoolchildren from Ariège, hosted by families of Portuguese correspondents, returned enchanted by this linguistic and cultural exchange. They will have very good memories of the welcome, the visits, the activities offered and the gastronomy. One of these activities revolved around a cross-border mural developed with students from Melgaço.

Visits include the museum of Portuguese folk clothing, but also the town of Viana do Castelo, its beach and a giant picnic. “This stay was highly rated and interesting on all levels, always together with the corresponding students, underlines Anabelle Couteau, in addition, the trip was made by plane and for some it was the first time, they will remember this trip doubly”. The goal of this stay was to meet with people, to exchange ideas, to see how we live in the neighboring country, that was successful.
