SNCF strike: what impact on train services?

From Wednesday morning, the SNCF management began to warn passengers. The railway company said it would prioritize “trains that run on snow holidays’.

When asked by France Info, Christophe Fanichet, CEO of SNCF Voyageurs, said: “The aim is to secure one TGV out of two this weekend.”

SNCF clarified that those whose trains are maintained have a guaranteed journey. No action is required.

Those whose trains are canceled due to lack of cabin crew will benefit from:
– free exchange on all TGVs where there is space until Monday 19
February (and there are still around 300,000 tickets for sale on the TGV in circulation);

– or a refund of 100% of the ticket price if the customer cancels the trip
scheduled from Friday, February 16 to Monday, February 19 inclusive

Customers who have booked their trains will receive an email/sms message whether their train is being maintained or cancelled.

Passengers who have tickets can also go to the SNCF Traffic Info website and enter the train number and date of travel.

For passengers affected by the cancellation of SNCF Voyageurs
offers a discount on the next TGV or INTERCITÉS journey. Customers will be able to
view the terms and conditions of this offer here.

These customers will automatically receive a 50% discount code within one month
future travel if booked within 30 days. No action
no additional information is required.
