Organizers Ossau Challenge would like trail participants not to wait until the last minute to register, as the organization says happens too often. This year will be the 37th edition of this series of five foot races in the Béarn Pyrenees. The first race, the Bénou trail, is scheduled for May 1. On Sunday, May 26, it will be Lo Petit Aussales. L’Ossaloise is scheduled for June 30 Aubisque rising for August 25 and finally the Tour de l’Ossau will take place on Saturday, September 7.
In the event of an obstacle, the amount will be returned to you
We need to anticipate registrations to make them easier to manage, this is the message conveyed by organizers including Pierre Hourcade. “Until the day before May 1, people register, explains the organizer. Of course, we are sending emails to all former contestants to tell them not to wait until the last minute to register. We have tried everything to make the prices attractive if they register a month or two in advanceIt does not work.”
One reason: the weather forecast for trail day. The participants are waiting to see if the weather will be nice or not, “they don’t care if they pay €5 or €10 more at the last minutee,” notes Pierre Hourcade. Payment is guaranteed and no documentation is required if you were registered but couldn’t come. Places at five events cost 84 euros and are on sale until the day before the challenge, April 30.
